
Lift-equipped mini-buses will be on the block March 20 at James G. Murphy Co.
Snohomish County, Wash. – Several retired Community Transit vans and mini-buses will be put up for public auction Saturday, March 20, at the James G. Murphy auction yard in Kenmore, 18226 68th Ave. NE. The auction begins at 9 a.m.
All vehicles are sold as is, with no warranty. The auction will include 13 El Dorado 14-passenger mini-buses, as well as three 15-passenger vans and one eight-passenger van. The El Dorados are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Two of the El Dorados are not in running condition. All the vehicles are retired from Community Transit’s DART paratransit and vanpool fleet. Vehicles will be available for preview from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, March 19, at the James G. Murphy auction yard.
Vehicle buyers must meet auction house requirements and provide a $300 deposit as soon as they are declared the auction winner, and need to provide at least a 25 percent deposit by the close of business that day. All vehicle purchases also require a $100 vehicle documentation fee. Full payment is due by 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 23. The auction house accepts cash, cashier’s checks, Visa and Mastercard. Personal or business checks are accepted only if accompanied by a bank letter of guarantee.

Other Community Transit surplus vehicles are being awarded through the agency’s Van GO van grant program. Non-profit groups can apply to the Van GO program to receive one of 12 vehicles that they would use to meet community transportation needs. Groups receiving Van GO vehicles will be required to fill out paperwork and provide usage reports during their first year using the vehicle.
