Community Transit does not operate bus service on Sundays and six major holidays. The service suspension began in June 2010 as an effort to reduce costs due to the recession and prolonged economic recovery. These days were selected for service reduction because they had the lowest ridership.
The Sunday service suspension applies to six major holidays on which a Sunday schedule is normally operated: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In some cases the result will be two days in a row without Community Transit service in Snohomish County.
Community Transit operates reduced service on some other holidays, particularly on its commuter trips to UW and downtown Seattle. See the chart below for details.
Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit and Sound Transit continue to operate on Sundays and most holidays.
See Route 512 for Sunday and holiday service between Everett, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Seattle.
